These pictures make me feel like I don't know the city at all, but I love it. Where is this and what's the deal with the kinda sorta grain elevator?
my guess is that this is on Lathrop Street, between Sycamore and Genesee.

When you click on the pic - click to enlarge - you'll find two additional images of this coal silo that I shot again yesterday. First time seeing the coal sign.
This structure is located off of Lathrop Street just north of Sycamore.
